Rosh Hashanah customs include sounding the shofar (a hollowed-out ram's horn) and eating symbolic foods such as apples dipped in honey to evoke a "sweet new year".
  • Day of Repentance - Day 1:

Starting from the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, ten days of repentance, also referred to as Days of Awe, begin during which people meditate on the sins committed during the past year and proceeds to repent. The 10 days of repentance, also called Aseret Yemei Teshuva(Aseret Y'may T'shuvah), end with the conclusion of Yom Kippur.
