US Holiday On May 7 2019?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Tuesday, 2019-05-07:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 2

    [pro]
  • National Charter Schools Week - Day 3:

[pro] National Charter Schools Week is an opportunity to highlight public charter school education throughout the country. The week is dedicated to celebrating the success of our charter students, teachers and administrators while raising awareness of the increasing demands placed on the schools. Charter schools receive government funding but operate independently of the established public school system in which they are located. Since 1994, the federal Charter Schools Program has provided charter schools with start-up and expansion grants and funding for school buildings. It is the only dedicated source of funding to support charter schools in the entire federal budget. According to the Presidential Proclamation (2015),
In today's global economy, a high-quality education is one of the best investments we can make in a child's future, and it is central to the promise that in America, where you start should not determine how far you can go. No matter who they are or where they come from, all children deserve the best education possible. During National Charter Schools Week, we recognize the role public charter schools play in providing America's daughters and sons with a chance to reach their fullest potential, and we recommit to strengthening our Nation's classrooms for all.
  • Teacher Appreciation Day:

Teacher Appreciation Day is an opportunity for students to show appreciation for their teachers with gifts or writing thank you cards. The National Education Association describes National Teacher Day as "a day for honouring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives". In Massachusetts, Teachers' Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of June.

Notes:

[pro] This is a special day designated by presidential proclamation.
