Largest gavel

According to Official Guinness Records,

The world’s largest gavel is 2.97m (9ft 8in) long with a head circumference of 1.6m (5ft 4in) when measured on 8 June 2002. Weighing 112.46kg (270lb), the exact replica of an auctioneer’s gavel was made from a single teak tree in an Indonesian furniture factory on behalf of Vikki Vines’ Gallery Auctions, Houston, Texas, USA. The teak wood used is from a special tree plantation and labelled with an official serial number as wild teak is endangered and off-limits. It takes seven men to lift the giant gavel.
