The Roman Catholic Church, according to the General Roman Calendar, celebrates the following in Sunday, 2024-11-24:

  • St. Andrew Dung-Lac, Priest, Martyr and His Companions, Martyrs (Memorial) 2024:

    FIRST LECTURE OF THE MASS

    Revelation 14:1-5

    1Then I looked, and lo, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder; the voice I heard was like the sound of harpers playing on their harps, 3and they sing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth. 4It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are chaste; it is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes; these have been redeemed from mankind as first fruits for God and the Lamb, 5and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are spotless.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM

    Psalms 24:1-6

    1The earth is the LORD's and the fulness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein; 2for he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the rivers. 3Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully. 5He will receive blessing from the LORD, and vindication from the God of his salvation. 6Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. [Selah]

    GOSPEL OF THE MASS

    Luke 21:1-4

    1He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury; 2and he saw a poor widow put in two copper coins. 3And he said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; 4for they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all the living that she had."

  • OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE 2024:

    Last Sunday in Ordinary Time.

    FIRST LECTURE OF THE MASS

    Dn 7:13-14

    As the visions during the night continued, I saw
    one like a Son of man coming,
    on the clouds of heaven;
    when he reached the Ancient One
    and was presented before him,
    the one like a Son of man received dominion, glory, and kingship;
    all peoples, nations, and languages serve him.
    His dominion is an everlasting dominion
    that shall not be taken away,
    his kingship shall not be destroyed.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM

    Ps 93:1, 1-2, 5

    R. (1a)
    The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
    The LORD is king, in splendor robed;
    robed is the LORD and girt about with strength.
    R.The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
    And he has made the world firm,
    not to be moved.
    Your throne stands firm from of old;
    from everlasting you are, O LORD.
    R.The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.
    Your decrees are worthy of trust indeed;
    holiness befits your house,
    O LORD, for length of days.
    R.The LORD is king; he is robed in majesty.

    SECOND LECTURE OF THE MASS

    Rv 1:5-8

    Jesus Christ is the faithful witness,
    the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth.
    To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
    who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father,
    to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
    Behold, he is coming amid the clouds,
    and every eye will see him,
    even those who pierced him.
    All the peoples of the earth will lament him.
    Yes. Amen.
    "I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God,
    "the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty."

    GOSPEL OF THE MASS

    Jn 18:33b-37

    Pilate said to Jesus,
    "Are you the King of the Jews?"
    Jesus answered, "Do you say this on your own
    or have others told you about me?"
    Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I?
    Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me.
    What have you done?"
    Jesus answered, "My kingdom does not belong to this world.
    If my kingdom did belong to this world,
    my attendants would be fighting
    to keep me from being handed over to the Jews.
    But as it is, my kingdom is not here."
    So Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?"
    Jesus answered, "You say I am a king.
    For this I was born and for this I came into the world,
    to testify to the truth.
    Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice."
