The following is an overview of the days and the corresponding celebration declared by the United Nations that apply to Friday, 2028-05-05:
International Midwives' Day:
This day was designated by the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) as a day for all midwives from all organisations affiliated to the ICM to express worldwide solidarity and take action to highlight the knowledge and skills of midwives, and the contribution midwives make to the health of their nations. The first International Day of the Midwife was launched in May 1991 with the theme "Towards safe birth for all by the year 2000". Eid al-Adha:
[headq] As stated in resolutions 52/214, 52/468 and other related United Nations resolutions, Staff at all United Nations duty stations, including the United Nations Headquarters, are to observe Eid al-Adha as holiday. Eid al-Adha is also called the Sacrifice Feast and it honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son, as an act of submission to God's command. It is celebrated every year on the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah in the islamic calendar. Please note that the date for the start of any lunar islamic month varies based on the observation of new moon by local religious authorities, so the exact day of celebration varies by locality and there may be a one-day error in the date calculation.
