  • National Freedom Day:

[fed-ob] The President may issue each year a proclamation designating February 1 as National Freedom Day to commemorate the signing by Abraham Lincoln on February 1, 1865, of the joint resolution adopted by the Senate and the House of Representatives that proposed the 13th amendment to the Constitution.
  • Ohio Township Day:

[non] National Wear Red Day encourages people to wear red in honor of those we have lost to heart disease and to raise awareness of this devastating disease and the steps we can all take to prevent it. National Heart Day is part of The Heart Truth, a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Designed to warn women of their #1 health threat, The Heart Truth created and introduced the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness in 2002 to deliver an urgent wakeup call to American women.

Notes:

[fed-ob] United States federal observances are days, weeks, months, or other periods designated by the United States Congress for the commemoration or other observance of various events, activities, or topics. These observances differ from Federal holidays in that Federal employees only receive a day free from work on holidays, not observances. Federal observances that are designated by Congress appear in Title 36 of the United States Code (36 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.).

[oh-sp] This is a special day, week or month by Statutory Designation in the State of Ohio.

[non] This is a non-holiday notable day
