80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly:
In accordance with rule 1 of the rules of procedure of the United Nations, the 80th regular session of the General Assembly shall begin today in the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. The General Debate of the session begins today (it generally spans about 5 days). During the General Debate, most states will have a representative speaking about issues concerning their country and the hopes for the coming year as to what the United Nations General Assembly will do. This is as opportunity for the member states to opine on international issues of their concern.
