US Holiday On March 20 2013?
The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Wednesday, 2013-03-20:
National Poison Prevention Week: [fed-ob] National Poison Prevention Week is observed in the United States the third week of March. The goal of the week is to raise awareness of the risk of being poisoned by household products, medicines, pesticides, plants, bites and stings, food poisoning, and fumes. Awareness being duly raised, it is hoped that this will prevent poisoning.
National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day: [nhas] National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is an opportunity to increase awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS on American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians, and to encourage HIV testing and honor and reduce stigma among those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. NNHAAD is a collaborative effort between these organizations: Asian Pacific Islander Wellness Center, CA7AE: HIV/AIDS Prevention Project, Great Plains Tribal Chairmen's Health Board, Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. and National Native American AIDS Prevention Center.
Vernal Equinox: [non] The vernal equinox is also known as the "March equinox" or "Northward equinox" and it is the moment when the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator, heading northward. This year, the exact moment of the vernal equinox is at 06:01 am (Central Time USA). At the time when the Sun is crossing the celestial equator, either southwards of northwards, day and night are of nearly equal length at all latitudes and astronomers call that moment an "equinox", a word derived from the Latin that means "equal night". The vernal equinox does not fall on the same day every year, rather, it can occur at any time between the 19th and the 21st day of March in the northern hemisphere.
