US Holiday On January 6 2019?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Sunday, 2019-01-06:

  • Epiphany:

[other] Epiphany (from Greek epiphaneia, "manifestation"), falls on the 12th day after Christmas. It commemorates the manifestation of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, as represented by the Magi, the baptism of Jesus, and the miracle of the wine at the marriage feast at Cana. One of the three major Christian festivals, along with Christmas and Easter. Epiphany originally marked the beginning of the carnival season preceding Lent, and the evening preceding it is known as Twelfth Night.
  • Ohio Braille Literacy Week:

[oh-sp] The Ohio Brille Literacy Week is a week long commemoration in honor of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille system used, in modified form, for printing, writing, and musical notation for the blind, and who was born on January 4, 1809, and became blind from an accident at the age of three. This observance has been in effect since 1992-10-28.

Notes:
