US Holiday On May 6 2013?
The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Monday, 2013-05-06:
Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 1 [pro]
National Charter Schools Week - Day 2: [pro] National Charter Schools Week is an opportunity to highlight public charter school education throughout the country. The week is dedicated to celebrating the success of our charter students, teachers and administrators while raising awareness of the increasing demands placed on the schools. Charter schools receive government funding but operate independently of the established public school system in which they are located. Since 1994, the federal Charter Schools Program has provided charter schools with start-up and expansion grants and funding for school buildings. It is the only dedicated source of funding to support charter schools in the entire federal budget. According to the Presidential Proclamation (2015),
In today's global economy, a high-quality education is one of the best investments we can make in a child's future, and it is central to the promise that in America, where you start should not determine how far you can go. No matter who they are or where they come from, all children deserve the best education possible. During National Charter Schools Week, we recognize the role public charter schools play in providing America's daughters and sons with a chance to reach their fullest potential, and we recommit to strengthening our Nation's classrooms for all.
SunFest 2013 - Day 6: [fl-sp] SunFest is a 5-days waterfront music and art festival that attracts thousands of people from all over the country and takes place every year in downtown West Palm Beach along Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway, extending along Flagler Drive from Banyan Boulevard to Lakeview Avenue.
School Bus Drivers Appreciation Day: [oh-sp] The first Monday in May is designated as "School Bus Drivers Appreciation Day" to increase public recognition of the important function that school bus drivers serve in safely transporting the children of this state to and from school.
