First person to win an Oscar award for best supporting actress for a debut performance

According to Official Guinness Records,

At the Academy Awards held on 4 March 1937, the first Oscar awarded for a debut performance was given to Gale Sondegaard (USA, 1899-1995) as Best Supporting Actress for her role of 'Faith Paleologus' in Anthony Adverse (USA 1936).
