According to Official Guinness Records,

The largest tarantella dance involved 316 participants for an event organised by Stadthalle Unna GmbH (Germany) at the Un(n)a Festa Italiana in Unna, Germany, on 21 May 2009.
689 people registered for the record attempt, however, only 316 people danced simultaneously for 5 minutes.
