Longest journey by car using alternative fuel

According to Official Guinness Records,

The record for longest journey by car using alternative fuel is 48,535.5 km (30,158.5 mi) and was achieved by Driven to Sustain (Canada) using biodiesel and vegetable oil. Tyson Jerry drove the entire journey, starting in Columbia, South Carolina, USA on 15 November 2009 and finishing in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 4 May 2010, with the support of the Driven to Sustain team.
Cloe Whittaker also joined Tyson Jerry during several legs of the trip and provided ground support throughout the entire journey. Along the journey, Tyson drove through North America, including parts of Canada, USA and Mexico, collecting fuel for the journey at many locations, including fast food restaurants. The mark was achieved during the second attempt at the record. During the first attempt, a total of 19,697 km (12,239.12 mi) was achieved before the Mitsubishi Delica broke down and was not repaired for 11 months, ending the attempt.
