According to Official Guinness Records,

The most paper collected in 24 hours at multiple venues is 210,025.97 kg (463,028 lb) and was achieved by Shred-it Denver (USA) in Denver, USA, on 19 May 2012.
The record attempt was held in order to highlight the importance of the secure destruction of paper documents. In addition, the event helped raise money for the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
