The Roman Catholic Church, according to the General Roman Calendar, celebrates the following in Wednesday, 2018-04-25:

  • St. Mark, Evangelist (Feast) 2018:

    FIRST LECTURE OF THE MASS

    1 Peter 5:5-14

    5Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you. 7Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you. 8Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. 9Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world. 10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you. 11To him be the dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 12By Silva'nus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God;stand fast in it. 13She who is at Babylon, who is likewise chosen, sends you greetings;and so does my son Mark. 14Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you that are in Christ.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM

    Psalms 89:2-3, 6-7, 16-17

    1I will sing of thy steadfast love, O LORD, for ever;with my mouth I will proclaim thy faithfulness to all generations. 2For thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens. 5Let the heavens praise thy wonders, O LORD, thy faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! 6For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD, 15Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance, 16who exult in thy name all the day, and extol thy righteousness.

    GOSPEL OF THE MASS

    Mark 16:15-20

    15And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. 16He who believes and is baptized will be saved;but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons;they will speak in new tongues;18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them;they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover." 19So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it. Amen.

  • WEDNESDAY FOURTH WEEK OF EASTER 2018:

    Easter Time.

    FIRST LECTURE OF THE MASS

    Acts 12:24?13:5a

    The word of God continued to spread and grow.

    After Barnabas and Saul completed their relief mission,
    they returned to Jerusalem,
    taking with them John, who is called Mark.

    Now there were in the Church at Antioch prophets and teachers:
    Barnabas, Symeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene,
    Manaen who was a close friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
    While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,
    "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul
    for the work to which I have called them."
    Then, completing their fasting and prayer,
    they laid hands on them and sent them off.

    So they, sent forth by the Holy Spirit,
    went down to Seleucia
    and from there sailed to Cyprus.
    When they arrived in Salamis,
    they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM

    Ps 67:2-3, 5, 6 and 8

    R. (4) O God, let all the nations praise you!
    or:
    R. Alleluia.
    May God have pity on us and bless us;
    may he let his face shine upon us.
    So may your way be known upon earth;
    among all nations, your salvation.
    R. O God, let all the nations praise you!
    or:
    R. Alleluia.
    May the nations be glad and exult
    because you rule the peoples in equity;
    the nations on the earth you guide.
    R. O God, let all the nations praise you!
    or:
    R. Alleluia.
    May the peoples praise you, O God;
    may all the peoples praise you!
    May God bless us,
    and may all the ends of the earth fear him!
    R. O God, let all the nations praise you!
    or:
    R. Alleluia.

    GOSPEL OF THE MASS

    Jn 12:44-50

    Jesus cried out and said,
    "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me
    but also in the one who sent me,
    and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me.
    I came into the world as light,
    so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.
    And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them,
    I do not condemn him,
    for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world.
    Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words
    has something to judge him: the word that I spoke,
    it will condemn him on the last day,
    because I did not speak on my own,
    but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak.
    And I know that his commandment is eternal life.
    So what I say, I say as the Father told me."
