The following is an overview of the days and the corresponding celebration declared by the United Nations that apply to Tuesday, 2018-02-06:

  • International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation:

    [WHO] On 20 December 2012, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution A/RES/67/146 in which it calls upon States, the United Nations system, civil society and all stakeholders to continue to observe February 6th as the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation and to use the day to enhance awareness- raising campaigns and to take concrete actions against female genital mutilations.
  • International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation:

    Female genital mutilation (FGM) comprises all procedures that involve altering or injuring the female genitalia for non-medical reasons - , and is recognized internationally as a violation of the human rights of girls and women.
  • World Interfaith Harmony Week - Day 6:

    The United Nations General Assembly underlines in its resolution A/RES/65/5 that mutual understanding and interreligious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace and establishes World Interfaith Harmony Week as a way to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith.
