• National Freedom Day:

  ^[fed-ob] The President may issue each year a proclamation designating February 1 as National Freedom Day to commemorate the signing by Abraham Lincoln on February 1, 1865, of the joint resolution adopted by the Senate and the House of Representatives that proposed the 13th amendment to the Constitution.

• Super Bowl Sunday:

  ^[non] The Super Bowl is the final match of the National Football League, better known as the NFL. The champions from the National Football Conference and the American Football Conference play for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Super Bowl takes place on the first Sunday in February. In addition, the Super Bowl has frequently been the most watched American television broadcast of the year.

• Ohio Township Day:

  ^[oh-sp] The first day of February is designated as "Ohio Township Day," in recognition of township officials and employees and the Ohio township association and its officers. Township officials are encouraged to use this day to visit the schools to explain their duties and qualifications.
