US Holiday On June 20 2021?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Sunday, 2021-06-20:

  • Father's Day:

[fed-ob] Father's Day celebrates fathers every third Sunday of June. Father's Day began in 1909 in Spokane, Washington, when a daughter requested a special day to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised his children after his wife died. The first presidential proclamation honoring fathers was issued in 1966 by President Lyndon Johnson. The President is requested to issue a proclamation — (1) calling on United States Government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on Father’s Day;(2) inviting State and local governments and the people of the United States to observe Father’s Day with appropriate ceremonies;and (3) urging the people of the United States to offer public and private expressions of Father’s Day to the abiding love and gratitude they have for their fathers.
  • Honor America - Day 7:

Honor America Days are United States Federal Observances observed from June 14 to July 4. According to 36 U.S.C. § 112, the 21 days from Flag Day through Independence Day is a period to honor America. On these days, Congress declares that there be public gatherings and activities during that period at which the people of the United States can celebrate and honor their country in an appropriate way.
  • Summer Solstice:

[non] This year, the exact moment the summer solstice occurs is at 2021-06-20 22:31:32 pm (Central Time USA), which is the moment when the Earth is tilted the most toward the sun and receives the most sunlight. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, although is not, strictly speaking, the hottest day of the year. In fact, the hottest days may come weeks after the summer solstice. The summer solstice is the first day of astronomical summer and is also referred by many simply as "the first day of summer". The summer solstice does not fall on the same day every year, rather, it can occur at any time between the 20th and the 22nd day of June in the northern hemisphere.

Notes:

[fed-ob] United States federal observances are days, weeks, months, or other periods designated by the United States Congress for the commemoration or other observance of various events, activities, or topics. These observances differ from Federal holidays in that Federal employees only receive a day free from work on holidays, not observances. Federal observances that are designated by Congress appear in Title 36 of the United States Code (36 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.).

[non] This is a non-holiday notable day
