US Holiday On May 25 2021?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Tuesday, 2021-05-25:

  • National Safe Boating Week - Day 4:

[fed-ob] Every year, the United States Coast Guard joins partners nationwide to raise awareness about boating responsibly. The goverment of the United States highlights that important work during National Safe Boating Week, and encourages all boaters to take appropriate precautions before casting off this season. In recognition of the importance of safe boating practices, the Congress, by joint resolution approved June 4, 1958 (36 U.S.C. 131), as amended, has authorized and requested the President to proclaim annually the 7-day period prior to Memorial Day weekend as "National Safe Boating Week."
  • National Missing Children's Day:

[pro] National Missing Children's Day is commemorated in the United States on May 25. It was first proclaimed in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan.
  • National Hurricane Preparedness Week - Day 3:

[pro] As we enter hurricane season, this week is an opportunity to call attention to the need of ensuring the safety of our loved ones and neighbors by building communities ready to weather storms and all natural disasters. According to the Presidential Proclamation (2015),
Hurricanes cause devastating and sometimes deadly damage, with violent winds and heavy rains destroying buildings, inundating both coastal and inland areas, and displacing residents from their communities. Each year, we call attention to the risks hurricanes and tropical storms pose, as well as the steps we can take to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities. During National Hurricane Preparedness Week, we recommit to strengthening the capacity of local responders and creating resilient cities, towns, and neighborhoods that are prepared when disaster strikes.

Notes:

[fed-ob] United States federal observances are days, weeks, months, or other periods designated by the United States Congress for the commemoration or other observance of various events, activities, or topics. These observances differ from Federal holidays in that Federal employees only receive a day free from work on holidays, not observances. Federal observances that are designated by Congress appear in Title 36 of the United States Code (36 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.).

[pro] This is a special day designated by presidential proclamation.
