Closest Calypso Pass

According to Official Guinness Records,

The closest that two planes flying at high-speed have performed a mirror image is 45 cm (18 in) - that is just over the height of this book! The manoeuvre, known as the 'Calypso Pass', was performed by two 71,000-hp Lockheed-Martin F-16 Falcons belonging to the United States Air Force Thunderbirds display team at the Aviation Nation Air Show 2005 in Nellis, Las Vegas, USA on 12-13 November 2005. Both planes were flying at a speed of 1,223 km/h (760 mph) - close to the speed of sound. Pilots: Major Scottie Zamzow (Thunderbird 5) and Major Brian Farrar (Thunderbird 6). Note that Thunderbird 5 spends so much time inverted that her number is upside-down (but the right way up for viewers).
