The greatest distance driven in one hour by a car with an internal combustion engine is 353.409 km (219.598 miles), by Helmut Henzler (Germany) and Keke Rosberg (Finland) in a prototype Volkswagen diesel-powered car on 18 October 1980 at the Nardo circuit in Italy.
