Fastest run 100 metres (female)

According to Official Guinness Records,

On 16 July 1988, Florence Griffith-Joyner (USA) ran the 100 m in 10.49 seconds at the University Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. She set the time in the quarter-finals of the US Olympic Trials for the Seoul Games later that year. Griffith-Joyner went on to win Olympic gold in the 100 m, 4 x 100 m and 200 m, setting a world record in the final of the latter event.
