According to Official Guinness Records,

The fastest time to eat a raw onion is 29.56 seconds, achieved by Yusuke Yamaguchi (Japan) at Commode 56 Shopping Street, in Sumoto, Hyogo, Japan, on 31 December 2013.The attempt took place as part of end-of-year, count-down party on New Year's Eve. The same venue was used as one of the previous holders of the same record, Akira Kudo, achieved his record back in 2011.
