According to Official Guinness Records,

The fastest time to peel 50 pounds (22.68 kg) of onions is 2 minutes 39 seconds and was achieved by Bob Blumer (Canada) at the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival in Walla Walla, Washington, USA, on 18 July 2010.
31 onions were peeled during the attempt, which was documented for the television show "Glutton for Punishment."
