First black athlete to win gold at the Winter Olympic Games

According to Official Guinness Records,

Shani Davis (USA) became the first black person to win an individual gold medal in the history of the Winter Olympics after winning the 1,000 m speed skating with a time of 1 min 08.89 sec on 18 February 2006.
