According to Official Guinness Records,

An audience at the Astor Theater in New York City, USA, donned red and green glasses for the first time to view test reels of 3D footage. Produced by Edwin S Porter and William E Waddell (both USA), the footage depicted, among other things, dancing girls and the Niagara Falls ¬ the first images seen using the anaglyph 3D process.
