First flight from Hawaii to North America

According to Official Guinness Records,

On 11 January 1935, Amelia Earhart (USA) made the first successful solo flight from Wheeler Field, Honolulu, Hawaii to Oakland Airport in Oakland California. The flight lasted 18 hours and covered a distance of 2,400 miles. A prize of US$ 10,000 had been offered by commercial interests in Honolulu for the first such flight. The aircraft used was a Lockheed Vega 5b. Two years later, on 2 July 1937, she disappeared in the South Pacific while attempting to fly around the world.
