First irrigation canals

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first irrigation canals, measuring up to 5 km (3.11 mi) long, were built at Choga Mami in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) in around 5500 BC. The surrounding population resided in small villages and grew wheat and barley.
