First monoplane to achieve flight

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first monoplane to achieve successful flight was "Traian Vuia 1", built by Trajan Vuia, a Romanian inventor who lived in Paris, France. Vuia flew his monoplane at a height of 1 m (3 ft) for 12 m (40 ft) in Montesson, Paris, France on 18 March 1906.
