First Olympic use of metal skis

According to Official Guinness Records,

The first time metal skis were used in an Olympic event was in1960 at the VII games held in Squaw Valley, California, USA. The innovator was Jean Vuarnet (France) who used the skis to win the Men’s Downhill event.
