First reality TV marriage

According to Official Guinness Records,

In February 2000, Darva Conger (USA), a former emergency room nurse, was selected by Rick Rockwell (USA) to be his bride on Fox's pioneering reality-competition show Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire? (Fox, USA). Although Fox later cancelled rebroadcast of the show and the marriage was quickly annulled (after it it was discovered that Rick had been accused of beating a former girlfriend and the fact that Darva did not even like him) the show drew huge ratings and is credited with launching the reality TV boom.
