First solo expedition to the South pole

According to Official Guinness Records,

Erling Kagge (Norway) became the first person to reach the South Pole after a solo and unsupported surface trek on 7 January 1993, at age 29. His 1,400-km (870-mile) journey from Berkner Island took 50 days.
