In June 2012, "Lycerius" aka James Moore (born Ireland/residing in USA) took to Reddit to reveal details of a game of Civilization II (MicroProse, 1996) that he had been playing since early 2002. He had dubbed his epic power struggle "The Eternal War". As of 23 September 2015, "Lycerius"'s last update came on 11 June 2013 – more than 11 years after he had begun playing. Lycerius had progressed the game into the year 4200 AD, which he described as presenting a "nightmare world of suffering and devastation".On 22 September 2015, Lycerius told GWR that he was still playing the same game but with "less regularity", and had not made "sufficient progress" beyond 4200 AD to warrant a further update on his Reddit page. Therefore, his record is currently remains dated as of 11 June 2013 – the date of his last Reddit post. James Moore holds dual citizenship between Ireland and USA.
