Longest ribbon cutting

According to Official Guinness Records,

The longest ribbon used in a ribbon-cutting ceremony measured 5.51 miles (8.86 km) and was used by the state of New Jersey (USA) to re-open the Jersey Shore in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, USA, on 24 May 2013.
The re-opening of the Jersey Shore occurred nearly seven months after the area was devastated by 2012's Hurricane Sandy. The ribbon began on the beach's coastline and concluded on the famous Seaside Heights boardwalk. New Jersey governor Chris Christie held the honors of cutting the ribbon.
