According to Official Guinness Records,

The largest football (soccer) championship (male) is the Copa Telmex Telcel 2016, which consisted of 223,157 participants distributed in 13,486 teams, competing across Mexico, from 1 May 2016 to 7 February 2017.The championship had two divisions for different age groups. The winning team from the male division was from Baja California and the winning team from the junior division was from Chihuahua.
