According to Official Guinness Records,

The largest viola caipira ensemble consists of 661 people, achieved by Viola de Nóis Produções Ltda (Brazil) in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 28 October 2017. The group, which consisted of viola players of all ages, played together for 43 minutes.
