Longest career as an entertainment news host

According to Official Guinness Records,

Mary Hart (USA) has had an anchor career at CBS Television Distribution’s Entertainment Tonight since 19 September 1982 and continued until 20 May 2011, a total of 28 years 243 days.
Guinness World Records classifies the genre of an entertainment television show as “shows which encompass a primary focus on breaking and exclusive news stories in music, television, film and interviews with high profile talents and celebrities.” The ET format of the show was syndicated internationally, but still serves as the pioneer of the genre.
