Longest linear accelerator

According to Official Guinness Records,

The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) in California, USA, is a particle accelerator some 3.2 km (2 miles) long. Since beginning operations in 1966, its key achievements include the discovery of the charm quark and tau lepton subatomic particles. The accelerator is located underground and is, according to administrators, among the world's longest, straightest objects.
