Longest living quadriplegic

According to Official Guinness Records,

The longest living quadriplegic is Walton Dalton Dutcher, Jr. (b. 30 September 1936, USA), who was paralysed on 12th May, 1956, and has been paralysed for 54 years, 3 months and 19 days, as of 31 August 2010. "Wally", as he's affectionately known by his friends, was injured in a diving accident whilst in the US navy. He met his future wife, Chris, in the early stages of his recovery who supported him and aided him in regaining his independence. He is well known within his community for his work with the handicapped community, campaigning to make things more accessible to them and help them in any way he can.
