According to Official Guinness Records,

The longest thread of hand spun wool measured 1,210.92 m (3,972 ft 9 in) and was spun by Ernest Jensen of Buderim, Queensland, Australia at the Bothwell International Highland Spin-In, Bothwell, Tasmania, Australia on 28 February 2003.
