Most deaths on Everest in one day

According to Official Guinness Records,

Tragically, an avalanche near Everest’s base camp on 18 April 2014 killed 17 Sherpa guides, the most deaths on Everest on one day. The initial report on the accident listed 16 people, yet the 17th victim, a 19-year-old boy, died in hospital on 1 May from the injuries sustained.
The 17 victims were Nepali: 14 Sherpas, 1 Chhetri, 1 Gurung, 1 Tamang.
