According to Official Guinness Records,

The most layers in a Chinese ball is 22, created by Helmut Birbamer (Austria) as verified in Berndorf, Austria, on 10 November 2015. A Chinese ball is made by a delicate procedure of shaving down portions from the inside of a block of wood, to create seamless, concentric spheres.
