According to Official Guinness Records,

The most marathons completed in one year by a male is 239 and was achieved by Larry Macon (USA) from 1 December 2012 to 30 November 2013.
Larry began his attempt on 1 December 2012 at the Baton Rouge Marathon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, and completed the last of his marathons at the Dozen Sweet Potatoes PM Marathon in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on 30 November 2013.
