Most Oscar nominations without winning

According to Official Guinness Records,

Sound mixer Kevin O'Connell (USA) received 20 Oscar nominations for Sound starting with Terms of Endearment(USA, 1983) at the 1984 Academy Awards – without a single win. His luck finally changed at the 2017 ceremony, where he shared a Best Sound Mixing award with Andy Wright, Robert Mackenzie and Peter Grace (all AUS) for Hacksaw Ridge (USA/AUS, 2016).
