According to Official Guinness Records,
On 4 January 2017, Robert Marchand (France, b. 26 November 1911) set a distance of 22.547 km in the Union Cycliste Internationale-sanctioned Best Hour Performance in the Men’s division of the “Master aged 105 years and above” category at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France. In doing so, Mr Marchand set a best performance for the UCI category and, aged 105 years 39 days, became the world’s oldest competitive cyclist.The “Master aged 105 years and above” category was created by the UCI especially for Mr Marchand for this attempt.In 2010, the UCI had created the “Masters aged 100 and over” category for Mr Marchand, who then set his first performance with 24.251 kilometres at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland. In 2014, he bettered the performance by 10 per cent when he rode 26.925 kilometres at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines – a Best Hour Performance record that still stands for the category.
