Oldest designer label

According to Official Guinness Records,

Charles Frederick Worth, who died in 1895, was the first designer to sign his work with a label and to show garments on live models. Born in Lincolnshire, UK, Worth moved to Paris, France, in 1845, where his talent for design was soon discovered by the ladies of the court of Napoleon III. He then started his own business and by 1871 had 1,200 people in his employment, making £14,981 (then US$80,000) a year. 685680.37 in the year 2000 has the same "purchase power" as £14981 in the year 1871. $1120707.48 in the year 2000 has the same "purchase power" as $80000 in the year 1871.
