  • World Statistics Day:

    The World Statistics Day is a special day to highlight the crucial role of official statistical information for quality analysis and informed decision-making for sustainable development. This day was first celebrated on October 20, 2010 supported by resolution 64/267 of 3 June 2010. The new resolution 69/282 of 3 June 2015, designates October 20 as World Statistics Day every 5 years. The UN invites all Member States, members of United Nations specialized agencies, organizations of the United Nations system and other international and regional organizations, as well as civil society, including non-governmental organizations, such as research institutions, media and all producers and users of official statistics, to observe World Statistics Day in an appropriate manner.
