International Days April 26 2021 (United Nations)

The following is an overview of the days and the corresponding celebration declared by the United Nations that apply to Monday, 2021-04-26:

  • World Intellectual Property Day:

    [WIPO] In order to promote conditions conducive to the flourishing of creativity and innovative capacity worldwide, since 2000, the General Assembly of the United Nations has recognized April 26 as World Intellectual Property Day.
  • World Immunization Week - Day 3:

    [WHO] The World Immunization Week is a world-wide public health campaign to raise awareness of the importance of improving vaccination delivery services and increasing rates of immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases. It takes place each year during last week of April.
  • International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day:

    In order to raise awareness of the long-term consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, and the need to continue the environmental and health monitoring of the Chernobyl-affected regions and communities, the United Nations General Assembly in its Resolution A/RES/71/125 adopted on 8 December 2016, decided to designate 26 April as International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day, to be observed every year beginning in 2017, and invites all Member States, relevant agencies of the United Nations system and other international organizations, as well as civil society, to observe the day, and notes that the costs of all activities that may arise should be met from voluntary contributions.
