  • International Jazz Day:

[UNESCO] In order to sensitize the general public about the virtues of jazz music as an educational tool and as a force for peace, unity, dialogue and strengthening cooperation between peoples, the International Jazz Day, observed on 30 April was proclaimed by the General Conference of UNESCO in November 2011.
  • World Immunization Week - Day 7:

[WHO] The World Immunization Week is a world-wide public health campaign to raise awareness of the importance of improving vaccination delivery services and increasing rates of immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases. It takes place each year during last week of April.
  • Orthodox Good Friday:

[floating] With the interest of respecting the diversity of United Nations staff members, resolution 62/250 designates Orthodox Good Friday as a floating holiday. Generally, the Orthodox Church celebrates Good Friday on a later date than most Western churches because the Orthodox Church still lives according to the old Julian Calendar.
