US Holiday On April 16 2020?

The following is a compilation of American federal holidays, federal observances, state holidays and other common patriotic and national observances and commemorations that apply to the United States during Thursday, 2020-04-16:

  • Pan American Week - Day 5:

[pro] The entire week on which the Pan American Day falls is observed as Pan American Week.
  • National Volunteer Week - Day 5:

[pro] The second week of April each year is designated as National Volunteer Week. This week serves as a means to promote and show appreciation for volunteerism in the United States. Communities across the United States have celebrated National Volunteer Week since 1974, when President Nixon signed an executive order establishing the second week of April as an annual celebration of volunteering. Since then, every U.S. president has signed a proclamation promoting National Volunteer Week. According to the presidential proclamation (2016),
Each day, humble people of every background and belief come together to fulfill the timeless responsibility we have as Americans: to accept certain obligations to one another. People of all ages can volunteer, and anyone can, through the smallest of acts, do their part to improve the lives of others. This week, we celebrate the selfless individuals around our country who channel their civic virtues through volunteerism, and we encourage more people to make service an integral part of their lives.
  • Hillbilly - Day 1:

[festival][ky-sp] Hillbilly Days is an annual three-day festival that takes place in Pikeville, Kentucky. The festival is hosted by Pikeville on the third weekend of April. Each year it brings in over 100,000 people, from all across the continent of North America, who line the streets of the City of Pikeville. The objective is to raise money for the local Shriners Children's Hospital. At this festival, there are live music and performances, arts and crafts, parades and fireworks.
